Manual Lymph Drainage is a massage technique developed by Danish medical doctor Vodder and his wife in 1932 CE. Vodder, who also discovered and developed a new branch of medicine called Lymphology, created this method primarily to treat patients with swollen necks or limbs due to poor lymph flow.
Manual Lymph Drainage is an advanced gentle massage technique in massage which aim is to stimulate the lymphatic system to remove congestion and stagnation from within the body, and so help it return to a healthy condition. It assists in unblocking the lymphatic system to promote proper blood and lymph flow. This detoxifies the body tissue of toxins, bacteria, viruses, fat, large proteins and dead cells. MLD strengthens the immune system and balances the nervous system, reducing pain and stress while increasing the body's ability to relax.
